Quirk

Nijiko's quirk allows her to warp light to portals that take the form of rainbows. These portals can lead to pocket dimensions which she can create or to specific locations as long as she has an idea of where the location is geographically. She can transfer people and objects through these portals, but uses them mostly as a means to store objects that she can't be bothered to carry.

Overusing her quirk can cause her to become extremely lethargic, feverish and dehydrated. She is also prone to collapsing if she isn't careful to stick to her limits.

Appearance

Nijiko is a tall girl with a medium build, brown eyes and short blue hair, additionally she has a beauty mark beneath her right eye. She tends to switch between dressing in more masculine and feminine clothing depending on her mood that day.

Although she does have a feminine figure; her height, short hair and angular face can make her seem androgynous when she's wearing loose clothes. As a result she has taken to wearing a bow on the left side of her hair to avoid being misgendered.

Personality

Nijiko is generally a calm, mild mannered and somewhat shy girl. From a distance she seems cool, much like a classic kuudere. But in actuality she's easily flustered when introduced to new people.

With her friends she's still reasonably quiet but more visibly comfortable and tends to smile more. She often takes on a more responsible role within her friend group, though notably shys away from any sort of leadership role, but rather roles where she gives her friends help and advice when they ask for it or picks up after them on their more wild misadventures. Much like a "designated driver" role.

One thing that does get Nijiko chatting is the mention of her projects. She has a clear passion for designing and creating all kinds of support gear. While she specialises in engineering technology, she's eager to learn and develop in all aspects of support roles to improve her work. She gets quite engrossed in her projects often staying up late or working even while eating her meals just so she can do a little more. She's also quite protective if her projects and work place and quickly becomes irritatable if people start touching her unfinished work without asking or rearranging her workstation.

Background

Nijiko is the middle child to Aeri and Satoshi Date, the founders of the DataWarp group, who specialise in the innovation of new technologies for the support industries, mainly for gear designed to support quirk use or provide physical enhancement, but also for medical technology such as prosthetics and cutting edge medical equippment.

Her mother is the current CEO, running the business side to the company and her father is the head scientist/engineer, overseeing the majority of the research and projects that the company greenlights.

With this in mind, it's no surprise that she developed an interest in technology and engineering from quite a young age. However, she wasn't the only person with a similar passion, her cousin Amaya had a keen interest in designing and making hero suits. Though both were primarily interested in different aspects of the support industry, they grew close over their shared love of it and agreed to set up their own support business one day where Amaya made the designs and hero suits and Nijiko developed the tech.

At first her parents were put out about this as, seeing her interest, they had hoped that she would aspire to take over her father's role in the family business. Much like her brother Renji, who is seven years her senior, intends to take over from his mother as the CEO and inherit the enterprise side of the business.

However they have since warmed to the idea of Nijiko going into business with Amaya, in part due to their youngest child, nine year old Kaido, also developing an interest in STEM.

Nijiko and Amaya both got into the hero support course at UA and were put in the same class. The two have been inseparable ever since as they work towards their shared goal. Three years on, graduation is looming and they're applying for the same universities so that they can continue to grow together and looking forward to making connections to aid them in the future.
